Cairo
Cairo is a teeming metropolis, vibrant and full of life. Within the City and close by are some of the most famous monuments in the world – the Pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx and the treasures contained in the Egyptian Museum which houses Tutankhamen’s burial mask as well as numerous other important archaeological finds. The Solar museum is well worth a visit as are both the Coptic and Islamic museums.
Cairo is also home to numerous historically important buildings such as the Hanging Church, the Citadel, the Blue Mosque and further afield, Sakkara and Memphis both important sites of early pyramids.
